Our Statement of Faith
1. OF THE SCRIPTURES
We believe that the Bible,
as we have it today, consisting of the Old and New Testament
Scriptures, was written by men divinely inspired and is a
perfect treasure of heavenly instruction; that it has God for its
author, Salvation for its end, and Truth without any mixture of
error for its matter; that it reveals the principles by which God
will judge us and therefore it is, and shall remain to the end of
the world, the true center of Christian union and the supreme
standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be
tried. We believe that God in His infinite wisdom, foreseeing that
as peoples and languages develop, His Word would be translated out
of it’s original form into different languages, has preserved it by
His power. Therefore we have today in our possession the complete,
perfect and inherent revelation of God in the form of the
King James Bible,
translated out of the Received Text of Scripture.
The Bible, then, is our only authority in Faith and Practice. All
that is in harmony with the Word of God and direct teaching of the
Scriptures we will seek to do and follow. All that is opposed or out
of harmony with the Word of God we will avoid and reject. Isaiah
8:20, Psalm 12:6-7, Psalm 100:5, Psalm 119:160,
Matthew 5:18, Matthew 24:35, II Timothy 3:16,17, II
Peter 1:19-21, I Thessalonians 2:13, Revelation 22:18-19
2. OF THE TRUE GOD
We believe that there is
one, and only one, living and true God, an infinite, intelligent
Spirit, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of Heaven and earth; that He is
inexpressibly glorious in holiness and worthy of all possible honor,
confidence, and love; that in the unity of the Godhead there are
three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, equal in
every divine perfection and executing distinct but harmonious
offices in the great work of redemption. John 1:14, John
1:1-5, John 4:24, John 10:30, Psalm 83:18, Exodus 15:11,
Isaiah 7:14, Revelation 13:8, Matthew 28:19, Ephesians 2:18, Mark
12:30
God the father:
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him
must worship him in spirit and in truth.
God the Son:
John 10:30 I and my Father are one.
God the Holy Spirit: John 16:13A Howbeit when
he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into
all truth:
3. OF THE FALL OF MAN
We believe that man, as we
know him today, is a direct creation of God and in no way evolved
from any lower form. He was created sinless and placed in the Garden
of Eden but by voluntary transgression disobeyed God’s command and
fell from that holy and happy state, thereby plunging himself and
the entire human race into sin and separation from God. He is at
this point, being by nature, utterly void of that holiness required
by the law of God, positively inclined to evil, and therefore under
just condemnation to eternal ruin without defense or excuse.
Genesis 1:27, Genesis 1:31, Genesis 2:15-17, Genesis 3:6-24, Isaiah
53:6, Ezekiel 18:19-20, Romans 1:20 Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12,
Romans 5:19, Romans 6:23
4. OF THE WAY OF
SALVATION
We believe that the
salvation of sinners is wholly of grace through faith in the shed
blood of the Son of God. Who, by the appointment of the Father,
freely took upon Him our nature, yet without sin, He honored the
divine law by His personal obedience and by His death made a full
atonement for our sins; that, having risen from the dead, He is now
seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for the
saints. He is in every way qualified to be a suitable, a
compassionate and an all-sufficient Savior. Ephesians 2:8, John
3:16, Philippians 2:16-17, Hebrews 7:25, Colossians 2:9, Hebrews
2:18, Isaiah 53:4-5
5. OF JUSTIFICATION
We believe that the
scriptures teach our position, which Christ secured to such as
believe in Him, is justification. That it is bestowed not in
consideration of any works of righteousness which we have done, but
solely through faith in the Redeemer's blood, by virtue of which
faith His perfect righteousness is freely imputed to us by God; that
justification brings us into a state of most blessed peace and favor
with God and secures every other blessing needful for time and
eternity. John 1:16, Acts 13:39, Romans 5:9, Romans 4:4,5
Romans 5:1-2
6. OF THE FREENESS OF
SALVATION
We believe that Jesus
Christ paid the price in full to secure salvation for all mankind.
There is nothing that man can do within himself to obtain salvation
from sin but to accept by faith that which is told to him in
Scripture concerning the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus
Christ. The Believer is secure in Jesus Christ. His salvation can
never be lost or taken away. Salvation is an act of God. Man is not
dependent upon himself to retain his salvation regardless of his
Spiritual condition. Isaiah 55:1 Romans 16:25,26 John 5:40,
John 3:16 John 3:1, Colossians 1:14, Ephesians 1:7, John 1:29, John
3:5, I Corinthians 15:1-4 II Timothy 1:12, John 10:28-29, Romans
4:1-6
7. OF GRACE IN
REGENERATION
We believe that, in order
to be saved, sinners must be regenerated or born again; that
regeneration consists in giving a holy disposition to ones mind;
that it is effected by the power of the Holy Spirit, in connection
with divine truth, so as to secure our voluntary obedience to the
Gospel; that it is evidenced in repentance, faith, and newness of
life. John 3:3, II Corinthians 5:17, John 3:8, I
Peter 1:22-25, Ephesians 5:9, Galatians 5:16-23
8. OF
REPENTANCE AND FAITH
We believe that repentance
and faith are inseparable graces, wrought in our souls by the
regenerating Spirit of God, whereby being deeply convinced of our
guilt, danger, and helplessness we turn to God with unfeigned
contrition, confession, and supplication for mercy; and at the
same time we heartily receive the Lord Jesus Christ and rely on Him
alone as the only and all-sufficient Savior. Mark 1:15,
Acts 11:18, Ephesians 2:8, Acts 2:37-38, Romans
10:9-10
9. OF GOD'S PURPOSE
OF GRACE
We believe that election is
the eternal purpose of God, according to which He graciously
regenerates, sanctifies, and saves sinners; that being perfectly
consistent with the free agency of man. That grace is a most
glorious display of God's sovereign goodness, being infinitely free,
wise, holy and unchangeable; that grace utterly excludes boasting
and promotes humility, love, prayer, praise, trust in God, and
active imitation of His free mercy. That it is the foundation of
Christian assurance; and that to ascertain it with regard to
ourselves demands and deserves the utmost diligence. II Timothy
1:8-9, II Thessalonians 2:13-14, Exodus 33:18-19,
II Timothy 2:10, II Peter 1:10-11
10. OF SANCTIFICATION
We believe that
sanctification is the process by which, according to the will of
God, we are made partakers of His holiness; that it is a progressive
work. It is begun at the moment of regeneration, and is carried on
in the hearts of believers by the presence and power of the Holy
Spirit, by the means of the Word of God, self-examination,
self-denial, watchfulness, and prayer. I Thessalonians 4:3,
I John 2:29, Romans 8:5, Philippians 2:12-13
11. OF
THE PRE MILLENNIAL SECOND COMING OF CHRIST
We believe
that seven years after the rapture of the Church, Christ will return
to Earth the second time to set up His earthly kingdom which will
last for one thousand years. At the rapture, which is imminent,
Christ will not return to Earth but will catch all Church age saints
up to heaven to be with Him. This will immediately plunge the world
into seven years of tribulation. Christ will literally come to Earth
the second time at the end of this seven year period. He will bind
Satan for one thousand years in the bottomless pit. Christ will
establish His Kingdom of peace on Earth and will physically rule
this kingdom for one thousand years. Matthew 19:28, 23:39,
24:3, 25:46, Mark 13:24-37, Luke 12:35-48, 17:22-37, 18:8, 21:25-28,
Acts 1:10-11, 15:16-18, Romans 11:25-27, I Corinthians 11:26, II
Thessalonians 1:7-10, II Peter 3:3-4, Jude 14-15, Revelation 1:7-8,
2:25-28, 16:15, 19:11-21, 22:20, Numbers 16:33, Psalm 9:17
12. OF
A BIBLICAL CHURCH
We believe
that a visible church of Christ is a congregation of baptized
believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the
Gospel, observing the ordinances of Christ (baptism and the Lord’s
supper), governed by His laws, and exercising the gifts, rights and
privileges invested in them by His Word; that it’s only scriptural
officers are pastor, deacons and treasure. The qualifications,
claims, and duties of pastors and deacons are defined in the
Epistles of Timothy and Titus. We believe that Christ Himself
initiated (started) His church in Luke 6 and gave the responsibility
of continuing it to the church at His ascension in Acts 1 and
equipped it for this task by the giving of the Holy Spirit in Acts
2. Matthew 18:17, I Corinthians 1:1-13, I Corinthians
11:2, Matthew 28:20, Acts 2 I Timothy 3, Titus 1, John
13:29, Luke 6:12-17, Acts 1
13. OF
BAPTISM AND THE LORD'S SUPPER
We believe
that Christian baptism is the immersion in water of a believer, in
the name of the Father, and Son, and Holy Ghost to show forth in a
solemn and beautiful emblem our faith in the crucified, buried, and
risen Savior with its effect in our death to sin and resurrection to
a new life. We believe that the Lord's Supper, in which the
members of the church by the sacred use of the bread and juice are
to commemorate together the dying love of Christ. It is to be
preceded always by solemn self-examination and confession of our
faults one to another. Acts 8:36-39, John 3:22-23, Matthew 28:19,
Romans 6:4, Acts 2:41-42, I Corinthians 11:26, I
Corinthians 11:28, James 5:16
14. OF
THE LORD'S DAY
We believe
that the first day of the week is the Lord's Day and is to be kept
sacred to religious purposes by abstaining from all secular labor,
except of mercy and necessity; by the devout observance of all means
of worship, both private and public; and by preparation for that
rest which remaineth for all the people of God. Acts 20:7,
Psalms 118:24, Isaiah 58:13-14, Hebrews 10:24-25, Hebrews 4:3-11
15. OF
CIVIL GOVERNMENT
We believe
that God has ordained and created all authority consisting of three
basic institutions: 1. The home or family 2. The state or civil
government and 3. the Church. Every person is subject to these
authorities, but all, including the authorities themselves, are
answerable to God and governed by His Word. God has given each
institution specific biblical responsibilities and balanced those
responsibilities with the understanding that no institution has the
right to infringe upon the other. The home , the state and the
church are equal and sovereign in their respective biblically
assigned spheres of responsibility under God. Romans 3:1-7,
Ephesians 5:22-24, Hebrews 13:17, I Peter 2:13-14, Matthew 23:10,
Acts 5:29
16. OF
THE RIGHTEOUS AND THE WICKED
We believe
that there is a radical and essential difference between the
righteous and the wicked; that such only as through faith are
justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and sanctified by the Spirit
of our God are truly righteous in His sight. All such as continue in
impenitence and unbelief are in His sight wicked and under the
curse; and that this distinction holds among men both in and after
death. Malachi 3:18, Romans 1:17, I John 5:19, Luke 16:25
17. OF
THE WORLD TO COME
We believe
that the end of this age is approaching. We believe in "That blessed
hope"--the personal, imminent return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus
Christ. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and
of the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and
the everlasting punishment of the lost. Acts 24:15,
Matthew 24:31-46 Revelation 22:11, I Peter 4:7, Acts
1:11, I Thessalonians 4:13-18
18. OF
THE POSITION OF WOMEN IN THE CHURCH
We believe
that God created men and women in His own image and that they are
unique in their individuality and purpose. We believe that women are
to be loved, honored and protected by men especially after they are
married and special care is to be given to widows. A women, either
married or single, may hold any position in the church except
that of Pastor or Deacon or teach males, who are regularly attending
the adult men's Sunday school class, bible doctrine. Genesis
1:27, Genesis 3:16, Acts 6:3, I Corinthians 7:3, I
Corinthians 11:3, Ephesians 5:22-23 &25, Colossians 3:18-19, I
Timothy 2:2&5, I Timothy 2:12, I Timothy 5:3, Titus 2:5, I
Peter 3:7
19. OF HUMAN
SEXUALITY
We believe
that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity should be
engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a women as God
designed them to be naturally. We believe that any form of
Homosexuality, Lesbianism, Bisexuality, Incest, Fornication, and
Adultery are sinful perversions of God's gift of sex. Genesis
2:24, Genesis 19:5&13, Genesis 26:8-9, Leviticus 18:1-30, Romans
1:26-29, I Corinthians 5:1, I Corinthians 6:9, I
Thessalonians 4:1-8, Hebrews 13:4
20. OF
ABORTION
We believe
that human life begins at conception and the unborn child is a
living human being. Abortion is the unjustified, inexcusable taking
of unborn human life. We reject any teaching that abortions of
pregnancies due to rape, incest, birth defects, gender
selection, birth control, population control, or the mental
well-being of the mother are acceptable. Contraceptive devices
which would damage or abort life in any stage of development are
inexcusable. Job 3:16, Psalm 51:5 , Psalm 139:14-16, Isaiah
44:24, Isaiah 49:1&5, Jeremiah 1:5, Jeremiah 20:15 -18, Luke
1:44
21. OF
DIVORCE AND REMARRIAGE
We believe
that God intended marriage to last until one of the spouses dies.
Divorce and remarriage is regarded as adultery except on the grounds
of fornication. Divorced and remarried persons or divorced persons
may be members of and hold position of office in the church and be
used of God for Christian service. They may not hold the offices of
Pastor or Deacon. Malachi 2:14-17, Matthew 19:3-12 ,Romans
7:1-3 I, Timothy 3:2&12, Titus 1:16
22. OF
LAWSUITS BETWEEN BELIEVERS
We believe
that Christians are prohibited from bringing Civil Lawsuits against
other Christians in the Church to resolve personal disputes. We
believe the Church should resolve all personal disputes between its
members. We do believe, however, that a Christian may seek
compensation for injuries from another Christian's insurance company
as long as the claim is pursued without malice or slander. I
Corinthians 6:1-8, Ephesians 4:31-32
